Big Week

We felt like this was going to be a great week because we have been planning on closing on our house this week, but today we got an interesting call from our Realtor. The good news is, that the family is still planning to buy the house and everything is in order for them to get their mortgage except one thing: Flood Insurance. Apparently, FEMA, has decided that they would like to take over the flood insurance industry. Congress needs to pass this and until they do, no insurance company can insure against floods. Our home is in a designated flood plain and can't be insured without flood insurance included.

So, without an Act of Congress, we will not be selling our house. Hopefully it will all be resolved quickly and we can finally move on with our lives. But until then, the family is already in our house and are paying us daily rent until close. I guess it could be worse. I love to be taught patience, it's good for me!

In other news, Brad was sustained yesterday as the new Branch President in our Branch. We were very surprised by this, but are happy to serve. Our Stake President feels that the branch will become a ward this year and we are excited to be a part of it. Of course, that means a lot of work, but it will be good. And, I'm guessing I will continue to receive many more lessons in patience!

Argh!!! So frustrating about the house! At least you are getting some money every month until it sells--that is helpful! And not surprised at all about Brad--you had a nice little break at least! :) He will do great! I am learning a great deal of patience right now, I don't like it....guess I haven't learned yet! Hope it is quicker for you! :)

Give my congrats to Brad. Can't say that I'm surprised. He will do great and so will you. Lots of blessings will be coming your way...as well as lots of kid bedtimes that you get to handle yourself!

Good luck with the patience thing. And let me know when/HOW you get it! Of course Brad is the new Branch President. You two are well-yoked, I would say. Reminds me of when I first met you, when you were opening up an area in Cerro Grande and I thought there could be no one cooler or more amazing than Hna. Gilman! Exciting future for your branch! Neal was just called into the bishopric and I'm still on as Primary Pres (among other things), so they keep us busy here too. Isn't it great? Good luck w/ all you guys are doing! (HEY, we should have coordinated our WA trips!!!)
